Route Relief - Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using Route Relief ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this Service.
2. Description of Service
Route Relief is a community-driven location mapping application that helps users locate and share information about bathroom facilities along delivery routes and travel paths. The Service displays user-contributed information about various facilities including gas stations, parks, libraries, businesses, and portable toilets.
3. User-Contributed Content
3.1 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for all information you contribute to Route Relief, including pin locations, facility descriptions, ratings, hours, and notes. By submitting information, you represent and warrant that:
- The information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- You have the right to share this information
- You will not share private, confidential, or restricted information
- The information does not infringe on anyone else's rights
3.2 Prohibited Content
You agree NOT to submit content that includes:
- Gate codes, access codes, security codes, or PIN numbers for private properties, gated communities, or restricted areas
- Trespassing instructions or encouragement
- Personal information (home addresses, phone numbers, owner names, etc.)
- Information intended to circumvent security measures or locks
- Harassing, abusive, or derogatory language directed at property owners or businesses
- Illegal activity or instructions on how to engage in illegal activity
- Spam or misleading information
⚠️ GATE CODE POLICY: Sharing gate codes or access codes is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate pin removal and potential account suspension.
3.3 Respect Private Property
The purpose of Route Relief is to help users find legitimate, publicly accessible bathroom facilities. You agree to respect all "No Trespassing" signs, posted hours, and facility access restrictions. Sharing information that would facilitate trespassing or unauthorized access is strictly prohibited.
4. Disclaimers
4.1 Accuracy
Route Relief does not verify the accuracy, completeness, or currency of user-contributed information. Facility hours, conditions, access restrictions, and locations may change without notice. Always verify information before relying on it.
4.2 Your Use At Your Own Risk
Your use of the Service and any information obtained from it is at your own risk. You are responsible for:
- Respecting private property boundaries
- Following posted hours and access restrictions
- Respecting business operations and policies
- Complying with all applicable laws
4.3 No Liability for User Conduct
Route Relief is not responsible for:
- Actions taken by other users
- Inaccurate or outdated facility information
- Damage, injury, or consequences from using facilities listed in the Service
- Trespassing or legal issues arising from your use of the Service
- Loss or damage to your vehicle or belongings
4.4 Service Availability
The Service is provided "as-is" without warranty. We do not guarantee:
- Uninterrupted access or availability
- Accuracy of GPS location data
- Timely updates to facility information
- Compatibility with all devices or browsers
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ROUTE RELIEF AND ITS CREATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
- Any claim arising from your use of the Service, information obtained through the Service, or actions taken based on that information
- Trespassing, property damage, or legal consequences from visiting facilities
6. Reporting Inappropriate Content
If you find a pin that contains prohibited content (gate codes, personal information, harassment, etc.), please report it immediately:

- Subject: [REPORT] Route Relief - [Facility Name/Type]
In your report, please include:
- The facility name or location
- What type of violation (gate code, personal info, trespassing encouragement, etc.)
- Any relevant details
We review reports within 24 hours and will remove content that violates these terms.
7. Content Removal and Account Actions
We reserve the right to:
- Remove any pin or content without notice
- Remove pins with gate codes, security information, or trespassing guidance
- Temporarily or permanently suspend user access to the Service
- Delete accounts associated with repeated violations
Users who share gate codes or facilitate trespassing will have their pins removed and may be banned from the Service.

9. Third-Party Services
Route Relief uses third-party services including:
- Leaflet.js (mapping library)
- Supabase (database and hosting)
- OSRM (routing and distance calculations)
- IP geolocation services
These services have their own terms and privacy policies. Your use constitutes acceptance of their terms.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Continued use of the Service following changes constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or informal dispute resolution.
